Typefaces Inspired by Vintage Travel
Wanderland Type is a collection of display fonts inspired by vintage travel, architecture, and cultural signage traditions. From Mediterranean coastlines to Art Deco boulevards, each typeface is rooted in the visual character of real places — sun-washed, nostalgic, and full of personality.
We believe type should carry a sense of atmosphere. A good display font doesn’t just spell words — it evokes a destination, a memory, a mood. Wanderland Type exists to help brands feel grounded in story and place.
Designed for Hospitality, Lifestyle & Expressive Brands
Our fonts are crafted for boutique hotels, restaurants, packaging, editorial design, and lifestyle brands that value character over trend. Each typeface blends vintage influence with modern structure, making them expressive yet highly usable in contemporary branding systems.
From bold Mediterranean energy to refined Art Deco elegance, Wanderland Type celebrates typography that feels timeless rather than temporary.
Designed by James van Kriedt
Wanderland Type is created by designer James van Kriedt, founder of Outerlands Studio. Drawing from years of work in hospitality branding, his typefaces are shaped by architecture, signage history, and a love of travel-driven design.
Wanderland also serves as an ongoing exploratory practice — a space to expand and refine the craft of typeface design. Each release is an opportunity to study proportion, rhythm, structure, and personality at a deeper level, building a growing collection rooted in place, culture, and the romance of exploration.
